San Ramon, Calif. - March 1, 2013

24 Hour Fitness is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its new location in Fremont, Calif. The 24 Hour Fitness® Fremont Super-Sportclub located at 4500 Auto Mall Parkway will open to the public on Saturday, March 2 at 6 a.m.

To celebrate, 24 Hour Fitness invites the local community to stop by on grand opening day for complimentary VIP club tours. Throughout the day, event attendees will have the opportunity to sample several Group X® classes, including Les Mills BODYCOMBAT™ and Zumba®. Joining 24 Hour Fitness at the community celebration will be Fremont Mayor Bill Harrison. Harrison will take part in a formal ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., where he will proclaim March 2 as “Healthy Fremont Day” in honor of the grand opening.

“24 Hour Fitness is the leading fitness club chain in the Bay Area and our focus is on providing members with the best workout experience possible to support their individual fitness goals,” said Danny De La Rosa, president of clubs, 24 Hour Fitness. “We are pleased to celebrate ‘Healthy Fremont Day’ with Mayor Harrison and our local community leaders as we open our doors and help even more people get fit.”

The new location will be inducted into the 24 Hour Fitness portfolio of more than 400 clubs nationwide and is part of the company’s investment of $25 million into its Bay Area footprint. “The City of Fremont supports local businesses that make our community a healthier place to work, live and play,” said Mayor Harrison. “24 Hour Fitness has served our community for more than 22 years, and we proudly welcome the new Super-Sport club with hopes that it will help even more people achieve and maintain active lifestyles.”

Club manager Kesan Pillai, a three-year veteran of 24 Hour Fitness, will lead more than 80 team members at the new Fremont location. The club will span more than 44,600 square feet and feature an array of fitness amenities, equipment and services that members and guests can enjoy, including:
